Our day begins with a scenic drive through the Vosques mountains and Alsace region of France into the town of Bitche to view the 800-year-old Citadel, a massive hilltop fortress. In Strasbourg we begin with a sightseeing tour of the city’s highlights including the “Petit France district” with its half-timbered houses, cobbled streets, and numerous canals, Place Gutenberg, and the 800-year-old gothic cathedral. Having worked up an appetite exploring Strasbourg’s favorite sites, we will make our way to local brasserie to enjoy a delicious Alsatian lunch of Tarte Flambé and salad (included). After lunch, there will be free time for you to explore the city on your own. Our final destination is the town of Soufflenheim, celebrated for the pottery that has been created here since the bronze age.
