Join RTT and guests from all over the world in Munich for Oktoberfest, the most famous of all German festivals!
Day 1: Upon arrival in Munich it is only natural that our first stop is at one of the famous Bavarian Breweries for us to find out how the well-known German yeast beer – Weissbier – is brewed. We enter the sacred halls of Franziskaner & Löwen Bräu, named after the famous Monastery once across the street. The beers signature is its copper golden glow and its light scent of citrus when you first lift it and get close to it. Join us and taste for yourself what the famous Monks of Franziskaner order inspired in the 16th century to gladly give their name to this one of a kind brew. After a well-deserved “Weissbeer-breakfast” with 2 tastings of beer and a typical freshly baked Bavarian “Brezen”, we continue to our first taste of Oktoberfest fun. Thrill seekers are welcome to challenge their senses on the adrenaline-pumping rides and foodies won’t be disappointed by the spread here either; roasted chickens, sausages and pretzels are just a few of the highlights. After walking the fairgrounds and working up a thirst on your food crawl, enjoy a beer in one of the mammoth beer tents for the quintessential Oktoberfest experience. After squeezing every last drop of fun out of the first day at Oktoberfest we’ll check in to our hotel, around 1900 hrs, in the alpine region of Grainau, directly under the Zugspitze mountain and enjoy a hearty dinner.
Day 2: In the morning, wake to the beautiful alpine view, as our Hotel is located right below the Zugspitze and enjoy a generous Bavarian breakfast buffet. The day is yours to explore. A shuttle transfer is set up to take us either to Garmisch Partenkirchen where the cog rail train to the Zugspitze - Germany’s highest mountain awaits or stay in the Bus and with our tour guide and head back in to Munich. Perhaps a Museum today or some shopping in the beautiful alleyways. Who says you cannot enjoy Oktoberfest fun for two days in a row? Just pace yourself as we have a traditional Bavarian evening all planned out for you. Back at our Hotel, enjoy a proper regional variety of Haxe, Pork roast with Dumplings and the famous German cabbage (Sauerkraut). The culinary delight will be accompanied by traditional Bavarian life Music. Sway on your seat or practice your dancing skills with the famous Bavarian “Schuaplattla."
Day 3: It is time to say good-bye to the Oktoberfest, but not quite yet. After another hearty Bavarian breakfast buffet, we check out of our Hotel and drive towards the city of Munich. Today, we will show you Munich from a different side. Join our tour guide for a traditional sight-seeing tour through Munich. We will take you by the well-known Nyphenburg Castle, the famous “Hofbräuhaus”, the Marienplatz with it’s worlds larges “Glockenspiel” and encourage you to climb the 306 steps of the bell tower of the Church St. Peter that rewards you with an extraordinary panoramic view of the Alpine mountain chain. Afterwards we will give you free time to further explore that part of our journey. We will understand if you visit the Oktoberfest one last time for a proper good bye before we have to make our way back to Ramstein for an evening arrival.
