Each fall, hundreds of thousands of pumpkins and their round colorful cousins are brought to the palatial estate of Ludwigsburg’s Palace and for the next three months, turn the estate into a Pumpkin Wonderland. The annual exhibition attracts pumpkin enthusiasts of all ages to enjoy the elaborate displays made up of themed pumpkin sculptures, pumpkin infused delicacies and hundreds of thousands of gorgeous gourds of all shapes and sizes.
Before we visit the lavishly decorated pumpkin paradise, we make a delicious detour to visit the home of Ritter Sport Chocolate. This is home to the nutty, creamy, fruity, sometimes crispy but always most delicious chocolate square, famous well beyond our German borders. Our visit here begins with an interactive tour showcasing the high-quality raw ingredients that go into these delicious chocolate confection cubes. Before we depart, Ritter Sport invites you to visit their fully loaded chocolate shop where you can shop to your hearts sweet content.
Next, we continue on to our main attraction; the Pumpkin Park. Whether classical music, Rock or Hip-Hop, Music is in the air at Ludwigsburg this year. Over 450,000 pumpkins have been lovingly carved and into shaped to represent musical history and instruments. The famous tongue logo of the Rolling Stones and Elvis Presley, made entirely of pumpkins, will welcome you today. Marvel at oversized Violins, a grand piano and the great composer Ludwig van Beethoven, who is celebrating his 250th birthday, along with other musical wonders. You can also visit the pumpkin-carving patch to purchase and carve your very own pumpkin masterpiece and leave the mess behind once you’re done. The exhibition would not be complete without a variety of tasty pumpkin inspired food and drinks to indulge on, including those special seasonal adult beverages with an extra kick for mom and dad.
