New Years

If you find yourself in Amsterdam for New Year’s Eve, you’re in for a treat. As soon as the sun sets on 31 December, the streets come alive as people gather to count down to the New Year. As the clock strikes twelve, the city lights up with magnificent electric firework displays and vibrant street parties, filled with music, laughter, and shared celebrations.

Our journey begins with a direct trip to the Dutch countryside for a visit at the Clara Maria Cheese Farm & Clog Factory. Upon arrival, our hosts will welcome us with a traditional hearty Dutch breakfast, featuring an assortment of breads, sliced meats, sweet jam, fresh fruits, juice and coffee.  Because the Dutch believe cheese is essential to life!  Each breakfast table will be anchored by half-wheels of delicious, farm fresh Clara Maria cheese to enjoy.

Following breakfast, an interactive cheese-making demonstration will reveal how high-quality ingredients, traditional aging, and artisan techniques come together to create their signature wheels. You will also get to sample various styles to test your palate using your newly acquired knowledge.

The experience continues in the wooden shoe workshop, where you will explore the history of iconic Dutch clogs. You will watch a live artisan demonstration of hand-carved shoe making, followed by a fascinating look at how modern machinery creates mass-produced clogs today. Before departing, you will have time to explore the farm's fully stocked gift shop—perfect for picking up artisanal cheeses, Delft porcelain, handmade wooden crafts, and classic souvenirs.

Next, we head into Amsterdam where you will enjoy approximately 9 hours of free time to explore the city at your own pace. You can shop world-class boutiques, tour legendary museums, or immerse yourself in the holiday festivities. Major hubs like Leidseplein, Dam Square, Nieuwmarkt, and Rembrandtplein offer incredible atmosphere, but be sure to arrive early if you plan to secure a spot at one of the city's organized countdown parties!
