Explore all the bounties of Eastern Europe on this extended trip that takes you to Berlin, Warsaw, Auschwitz, Dresden, Poland and more.  This touring holiday is the perfect combination of sightseeing and shopping for amazing treasures including Polish Pottery, at a relaxed pace.

Day 1: Early departure from Ramstein guarantees our midday arrival in Berlin. Upon arrival we will check in to our hotel, freshen up.  Then we’ll head right back out, getting to know Berlin in more detail from a different vantage point on a cruise down the famous Spree River.  Our route takes us right through the center of town, past the famous Museums Island, the Dom of Berlin and the Government District. After having worked up an appetite doing all that sight-seeing, we will visit the famous Nikolaiviertel (Nikolai-quarter) where we’ll finish up this exciting first day with a traditional dinner in one of Berlin’s oldest Restaurants.

Day 2: After breakfast at the hotel, we dive right into the sights and turbulent history of this once divided city for an in depth tour with our local guide. Our city tour features the restored Reichstag, Charlottenburg Palace, a picture stop at monumental Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial, the monumental Victory Column in the vast Tiergarten park and Checkpoint Charlie. The remainder of the day is yours to freely enjoy this rich vibrant city!

We will visit picturesque marketplaces speckled with artists and street cafés, and the 237-metre Palace of Culture & Science resembling New York's Empire State Building. Unlike most Polish cities, Warsaw's townscape is largely contemporary with stylish glass buildings towering above older more historical constructions which is comparable to North American metropolises. The remainder of the day is yours to explore this modern city.

Day 5: After breakfast and check out of the hotel we continue our eastern European experience heading south towards the former capital and royal city of Krakow. We will visit the Jewish quarter and the Oskar Schindler factory.  Afterward, we check in to our Hotel and enjoy a local style dinner. The evening is yours to explore the local area.

Day 6: After breakfast at the hotel we will visit the concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau (Oswiecim). During our guided tour we will be given a sobering portrait of the inhumane treatment and terrible suffering that went on in the camp that was built in 1940 and later liberated by the Soviet Red Army. Afterward, we will return to downtown Krakow in plenty of time for you to venture out, enjoy lunch and explore.

Day 7: After breakfast and check out of the hotel we will head on to our next spectacular location in Dresden, Germany. On our way we visit the famous town of Bunzlau (Boleslawiec), famous for the traditional Polish Pottery dating back to the 16th century. Here we have plenty of free time to stroll through stores and load up on a host of ceramic souvenirs.  From here, we continue to the German border to the well-known baroque town of Dresden. Upon arrival, we check in to our hotel and where a welcome dinner will be waiting for us.

Day 8: After breakfast we will join our local guide on a tour through Dresden by bus and on foot, relishing the baroque beauty, city palaces, domed churches and the magnificent “Semper Opera”, located right at the river Elbe. The day is yours to let the romantic atmosphere of the city’s charm inspire you to perhaps while you do some in depth sight-seeing.
