Central European Grand Slam

Central European Grand Slam

Bratislava, Budapest & Vienna

Experience three of Central Europe’s capital city jewels on this high-value tour-de-force adventure, now 5 days long with loads of meals multiple  and in-depth sightseeing tours in all locations with local guides!

Day 1:  Our day begins with an early afternoon arrival in Bratislava, Slovakia, a former member of the Eastern Bloc and the only European national capital that borders two sovereign nations. This up-and-coming city offers a vibrant culture, rich history, and amazing shopping, but as it is only just being discovered by westerners, is not yet overcrowded with tourists and offers an authentic charm. Our local guide will take us on a journey into Bratislava's dynamic past and provide an overview and insights into the city’s premier attractions and beautiful sites. After some free time to enjoy the city, our adventure continues to Hungary and the city of Budapest. Here, we check into our hotel and spend the evening feasting on some delicious Hungarian cuisine, providing you with the perfect opportunity to sample some of the local flavors.

Day 2: After breakfast at the hotel, we embark on our guided sightseeing tour of Budapest. You will be amazed by the sweeping panoramas of Buda’s Hapsburg Palace, the beautiful Danube River that splits the city like a silver ribbon, and the seven magnificent bridges that knit the picturesque shores back together. Following the guided tour, the remainder of the day is yours to independently explore this legendary city. No matter how you spend your time, you will be enchanted by the unique vintage metropolitan atmosphere created by the bustling streets, café culture, and pedestrian areas.

Day 3: Today is all yours to spend to your heart's content! It is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the local guide's recommendations from the previous day and explore all the “must-see” spots in town at your pace, perhaps do some shopping. For this evening, we have planned something truly unique. Our bus will take us just a little outside of town to a venue that is specialized in traditional Hungarian entertainment & cuisine, keeping a perfect balance of matching tasteful Hungarian cooking traditions to our modern days. The moment you step into the restaurant, you are immediately surrounded by the typical scent of the famous Hungarian Paprika and dried spices. During our dinner event, watch colorful Hungarian dancers spin to traditional Hungarian folk music.

Day 4: After breakfast and hotel checkout, we begin our journey to Austria and the city of Vienna, famous for the historic geniuses of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven and Sigmund Freud, who once called Vienna their home. Our guided tour here will highlight the Hofburg Imperial Palace, Viennese Stephansdom, Belvedere Palace, Rathaus (City Hall), and many more beautiful and historic sites. Following our grand adventure in the city, we check into our hotel, with the remainder of the day free for independent sightseeing. Perhaps take a ride in one of the famous Fiakers (horse-drawn carriages), visit the Prater Amusement Park, or simply enjoy the bustling city center where you might enjoy a meal at one of the many local restaurants.

Day 5: After breakfast and hotel check-out, we are off to visit Castle Schönbrunn, perhaps one of the most glamorous sites of the entire trip, and the perfect grand finale for our trip. Here we have arranged for you to be given a once-in-a-lifetime Grand Tour, allowing to you stroll where emperors once walked and gaze upon the finest and most luxurious interior found in all of Europe. The palace consists of 1441 rooms, 45 of which can be visited, including the famous recently renovated Chinese Room with silk walls and porcelain from China and Japan and The Million Room. We will also visit the Mirror Room, where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart performed one of his first concerts and compositions in 1762 on the harpsichord for Empress Maria Theresa when he was only years old, evidencing the beginnings of this gifted musical child prodigy. After this final excursion, it’s time to begin the journey home, where you can relax on the bus and recall all the amazing things you got to experience on this grand slam
