Bohemian Romance

Let RTT introduce you to Golden Prague, the spa town of Karlovy Vary and the monumental Castle Loket on this 2 overnight Valentines Day Weekend adventure. The focal point of this tour will be rich culture, tasty Bohemian delights and great shopping for almost anything imaginable. Prague and Karlovy Vary are known for great bargains on Bohemian crystal, porcelain and garnet jewelry, and Loket – the impregnable Castle and “Key to the Check Kingdom” known to capture visitors with its rugged beauty. The relaxed pace of this tour affords plenty of free time for wandering off the beaten track and exploring the hidden gems of each city with your loved one at your own pace.

Day 1: Early morning departure from Ramstein to the beautiful historical town of Loket (Elbow). Join our local guide for a tour through "The Impregnable Castle of Bohemia” followed by a festive lunch set in a former Malthouse, a local micro-brewery. The menu features a delicious underground spit-roasted pork and sample of the original Bohemian brew. Late afternoon departure for Prague and check in to our 4-star Hotel. The evening is yours to relax or start your explorations with the tour guides help.

Day 2: After breakfast, Prague will come alive as we join our local guide for a walking tour starting at the Castle before descending into the Old Town. The Castle of Prague is the most massive preserved fortress from the middle ages in all of Europe. From atop the castle hill, we’ll take in the panoramic view of 500 church spires and the silver winding ribbon of the Vltava (Moldau) River. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore the illuminated city at your own pace.

Day 3: After breakfast, we travel to Karlovy Vary, where your time is your own to explore, shop or enjoy the many architectural gems found throughout the city. There are 13 main hot springs throughout the town, all draining into the cold waters of the Tepla river creating huge jets of water and steam, and giving the city a romantic, misty ambiance. The presence of the springs and the healing mineral water they contain make it one of Europe’s premiere wellness destinations—step up to one, found in the center of town, and sip as the water bubbles directly from the earth. The city is also a top shopping spot for grand crystal chandeliers, china, and stemware. A trip to Karlovy Vary would not be compete without a stroll through the riverside districts' expansive colonnades, columned walkways and stunning Neoclassical and Art-Nouveau spa buildings.
