Getting to work with military groups who are coming to Ramstein TDY and plan their custom private tour is a really special part of our job here at RTT. It's exciting when you get to be a part of helping not one, but a group of people check some things off their bucket list!
We recently got a last minute request to plan a custom trip for a group of 35 Guard Airman who were visiting Ramstein from Connecticut Air National Guard, for a two-week training mission. The trip was planned for their last weekend before returning to the states and we only had a few days to put together something amazing, affordable and that checked all the boxes on their wish list.
Our team put together the most amazing trip to Heidelberg, led by Ann, from our tours department. The group started the day at a small organic brewery just outside of Heidelberg for a tour and tasting of the amazing artisan ales this company is known for. The presentation given by the brewery was relaxed, informative and friendly and accompanied by three different types of beer and hot, tasty, freshly baked bread and pretzels.
Next, we took the group into Heidelberg for a walking orientation tour of the beautiful city center before catching a ride on the Funicular to Heidelberg Castle. This amazing railway is one the best ways to see Heidelberg as the views of the castle and city are unbeatable. The group got to enjoy Heidelberg Castle and then spent the rest of the afternoon independently exploring, shopping and enjoyed dinner together before meeting back up with Ann for the return trip home.
We loved helping the folks from Connecticut Air National Guard plan their special day in Heidelberg and want to thank them for giving us permission to share the details of their trip and photos. We hope that if your Military Group is coming to Ramstein and needs a special day out, you'll contact us and let us help you plan an amazing custom group trip for you!
