We’ll explore the Prague’s hidden secrets and the legendary Kutna Hora “Bone Church,” decorated with over 50,000 human skeletons!
Day 1: Our adventure begins high above the town of Prague at a specialty restaurant & microbrewery, inside one of the towns oldest Monastery’s with a hearty Bohemian style lunch. This hearty meal will invigorate and refresh you for our walking tour of Prague and Castle visit. After lunch, just steps away from the restaurant, we join our local guide at The Castle of Prague, the largest preserved fortress from the middle ages in all of Europe. From atop the castle hill you will be able to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the city before we descend into town. We will make our way to the waterfront, crossing the Vltava (Moldau) River on the famous Charles bridge towards old town square. In the Early evening, we will check in to our 4-star hotel, providing ample time to relax or explore on your own for the evening. Your tour guide will be happy to make recommendations for dinner and evening activities.
Day 2: After breakfast at our hotel, we journey about 45 minutes south east of Prague to a town called Kutna Hora (Kuttenberg). A unique and beautifully haunting treasure is waiting for us at the Sedlec Ossuary, a small Roman Catholic Chapel located beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints, one of the twelve World Heritage Sites in the Czech Republic. The Ossuary is estimated to contain the skeletons of 40,000 to 70,000 people, whose bones have artistically arranged to form decorations and furnishings for the chapel. An enormous chandelier of bones, containing at least one of every bone in the human body, hangs in the chapel center, adorned by garlands made of skulls. The unique macabre beauty of the ornaments found here will haunt you. After a guided tour and there will be some free time for you to explore the city or perhaps sample some of the local cuisine before we journey back to Prague to refreshen up for our evening adventure.
This evenings festivities begin with a scrumptious traditional Bohemian 3-course dinner at a restaurant downtown. Following our meal, we join our second local guide who specializes in the cities hidden history, for a creepy tour in the dark alley’s and streets of Prague. We’ll hear ancient Ghost stories and visit dungeons with medieval torture devices right beneath the city. This night tour will expose the untold and gruesome historic underbelly of Prague in a way you have never seen before…
