Haunted Prague

Dark Side

of Prague

Get into the Halloween spirit by joining us on this special trip to the Czech Republic where we explore the darker sides and the fascinating legends of two unique Bohemian cities and the legendary Kutna Hora “Bone Church,” decorated with over 50,000 human skeletons!

Day 1: Evening departure from Ramstein and check into our Hotel in Prague just before midnight, giving you ample time to rest and recharge before tomorrow’s full day of sightseeing in Prague.

Day 2: After breakfast, we start our day with a walking tour of the city center where Prague will come alive as we explore the Cathedral, Old Town and Prague Castle, the largest preserved fortress from the middle ages in all of Europe. From atop the castle hill we will take in the panoramic view of 500 church spires and the silvery winding ribbon of the Vltava (Moldau) River. The afternoon offers you free time explore the sights, enjoy lunch at one of the many local restaurants or shop for Bohemian art and treasures.

Our evening begins with a traditional Bohemian 3-course dinner at a one of our favorite restaurants downtown. Next, we’ll be joined by a local guide for a walking tour into the darkest, haunted streets and sites of Prague. We’ll hear ancient Ghost stories, visit the graves of legends and explore dungeons with medieval torture devices. This night tour will expose the historic gruesome underbelly of Prague in a way you have never seen before!

Day 3: After breakfast we journey about 45 minutes south east of Prague to a town called Kutna Hora (Kuttenberg). Here we’ll visit the Sedlec Ossuary, a small Roman Catholic Chapel located beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints, one of the twelve World Heritage Sites in the Czech Republic. The Ossuary, also known as the “Bone Church,” is estimated to contain the skeletons of 40,000 to 70,000 people, whose bones have artistically arranged to form decorations and furnishings for the chapel. An enormous chandelier of bones, containing at least one of every bone in the human body, hangs in the chapel center, adorned by garlands made of skulls. The haunting macabre beauty of the ornaments found here is sure to send shivers up your spine. After touring the Ossuary there will be free time to explore the city, shop for souvenirs or sample the local flavors at one of the nearby restaurants before we start our journey home.
