This trip takes us to the alpine haven of Southern Germany, to the pristine shores of Lake Constance. Our first stop will be the medieval Castle Burg Meersburg, picturesquely situated high above the turquoise waters of the lake. Enjoy a most unimpeded view over the lake, all the way to the Swiss mountain range in the distance. The town, beautifully framed by steep vineyards marks the southern tip of the famous “German Framework road” (Deutsche Fachwerkstrasse). Meersburg charms guests with picturesque alleyways, half-timbered houses, cozy cafes and a grand seaside promenade with a warm Mediterranean like breeze, offering a pause from busy lives.

Next, we board our swimming ride to take us across the Lake to the magical Island of Mainau! Here you can freely explore the bounty of botanical wonders found in the tropical gardens, including a butterfly house, playgrounds, castle, chapel and more. Enjoy a family picnic brought from home or sample the culinary delights found throughout the island’s restaurants, cafes and bakeries. This year's garden theme, "Flowering Water & Floating Gardens" starts a culinary journey in to mythological water worlds in honor of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea.
