Dresden & Prague Christmas Delight

Join us for a special extended 2-overnight holiday season trip that introduces you to Dresden and the Golden city of Prague, two glorious cities that will instantly capture your heart and infuse you with Christmas spirit. This adventure will celebrate the different Christmas traditions and showcase many tasty delights, handicrafts and festively decorated markets.  Amazing shopping opportunities and bargain prices can be found in both cities, making this trip an ideal way to get a jump on your holiday shopping list for an array of unique and rare items.    

Day 1: An early morning departure from Ramstein takes us to the beautiful and historical town of Dresden. We will join a local guide on a tour through the city by bus and on foot, relishing the baroque beauty, palaces, domed churches and the magnificent “Semper Opera.” During the afternoon, let the romantic atmosphere and the festive charm inspire you to spend your free time in the bustling squares of Germany’s oldest Christmas markets, enjoy some Glühwein (mulled wine) and a taste of the famous Dresdner Stollen (German Christmas cake). A real treasure are the wood crafted ornaments from the nearby Ore Mountains. Every visitor will find a little souvenir; the famous Nutcracker, perhaps a Räuchermännchen (Incense Smokers) or Christmas pyramids (carousels with figures of the Christmas story). In the late afternoon we depart for Prague and check in to our 4-star Hotel where dinner will be provided.

Day 2: After breakfast we join our second local guide for a walking tour that will bring the city to life, starting at The Castle of Prague one of the largest preserved fortress from the middle ages in all of Europe. From atop the castle hill you will be able to admire the incredible panoramic view of 500 church spires and theVltava (Moldau) River that winds through the city like a silver Christmas ribbon. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore the city at your own leisure. This time of year we recommend visiting the famous Christmas Markets in the center of Prague, aglow with festive decorations and lights, creating a charming winter wonderland. Browse through the many stalls filled with handmade bohemian crafts, seasonal decorations, crystal and culinary Christmas treats of all varieties.   

Day 3: After breakfast and check out, our bus will take us to downtown Prague where the morning is yours the explore the city at your own pace. This is an ideal time to shop for an array of special Christmas gifts and bargain items for loved ones back home.  There is still plenty of time to meet military Christmas shipping deadlines in time for gifts to arrive by the 24th. If your shopping is done, take some time to explore the many other sites in the city center, prowl the Christmas Market for some tasty snacks or relax in one of the many cafés.
