Express Tours:
Express tours are generally for a 24-hour block of time. Typically they begin
late at night or early in the morning. You arrive at the advertised destination
in the morning and spend a full day there. Early evening you begin the return
trip and arrive at various points of origin late at night or early the next
morning. These tours are inexpensive, as they don’t include hotel accommodations.
They are
fast-paced
and ideal as introductions to particular regions or cities.
1 Overnight Tours:
The first day of these tours is typically dedicated to
traveling to the destination. Normally the tour will commence late at night
on day one or early in the morning of day two. You will arrive at the advertised
destination on the morning of day 2 and follow the tour's itinerary. Check
in to the hotel is normally done in the afternoon of day 2. Day 3 is started with breakfast and checking
out of the hotel, with the rest of the day following the tour itinerary.
The return trip usually begins in the early evening, reaching points of
origin late at night. These kinds of tours are not as fast paced as the
Express tours, include 1-night hotel accommodations and provide more detail
and time at various points of interest during the tour. They are ideal
for people who want a good overview of a country or region.
2 Or More Overnight Tours:
The first day of these tours is typically dedicated to
traveling to the destination. Normally the tour will commence late at night
on day one or early in the morning of day two. You will arrive at the advertised
destination on the morning of day 2 and follow the tour's itinerary. Check
in to the hotel(s) is normally done in the afternoon. The tour itinerary
varies from tour to tour. In some cases you will stay in the same hotel,
and in others you will change hotels frequently. The last day of the tour
is normally dedicated to the return trip, arriving at points of origin late
at night. With this type of tour you will be afforded more time to explore
on your own. These tours are ideal for people who want a relaxed pace and
want more detail about the cities and region they are traveling too.
Suggestions to Make Your
Tour More Pleasant:
For a
comfortable bus ride bring a small blanket and pillow so you can sleep
comfortably. Although the bus drivers sell beer, water and soda, you are not
prohibited from bringing your own snacks. Bus drivers prefer bottled drinks
with twist-on caps and dry snacks (no sandwiches with sauces, French fries,
ice cream, etc.). The bus driver may disallow foods deemed messy or easy to
spill. Small coolers can be stored in the luggage compartment of the bus
and accessed during rest stops.
