Overview:
Experience the wonder of ancient Roman civilization in Aspendos and Perge,
and the life of modern-day nomad families on this tour to southern Turkey.
A superb hotel in Antalya, with two meals a day, is the base for
excursions, shopping and local adventures.
Day 1:
Flight from Frankfurt am Main, Saarbrucken, Stuttgart, Nurnberg,
Munich, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Berlin (Tegel), London (Heathrow),
Manchester, Brussels (National) and Amsterdam (Schipphol) to
Antalya Upon arrival the group is met by the local guide for a transfer
to the hotel. Overnight in your 4* hotel. (Stopover or Change en
route possible).
Day
2:
After a good nights rest and a pleasant breakfast in your hotel, join your
group on a day-long tour of sites of ancient civilizations and natural
beauty. Visit Aspendos theater near ANTALYA, famous for its well-preserved
theater built in the 2nd c. AD with a seating capacity of 15,000 people. When St. Paul started his travels, he visited Perge in
46 A.D. and preached his first sermon here. It became an important city for
the Christians during the Byzantine period.
The Kursunlu waterfall forms a lovely picnic and pleasure spot only twenty
minutes from the centre of the city of Antalya. The waterfall is on one of
the tributaries of the Aksu river and its situation in the midst of a pine
forest is of quite exceptional beauty.
Visit the city of Antalya and see how Turkish people live today. Visit the
local jewelery manufacturing and leather factory. Take a break in the
center of the city to see the wonderful view from the marina and visit the
kaleici (old city) to see the old Seljuk buildings.
Day 3:
Departure after your hotel breakfast and tour for a visit to a Turkish
mountain village. Visit the mosque in the Sagirin village and begin to
understand how different religions impact on Turkish life. Take a break at
a Turkish cafe and taste the Turkish coffee or tea. Visit a traditional
Turkish village house and learn something about the culture of home life in
Turkey. A drive to the river banks impresses visitors with the importance
of rafting and fishing to local life. A lunch stop at the local fish
restaurant lets you try the best fish in Turkey!
This village is one of the most important villages in Turkey of former
nomadic tribes people, and is a traditional carpet producing center. You will have an opportunity to
visit the carpet distribution center. Return to your hotel for a leisurely
evening.
Enjoy an evening opportunity for traditional Turkish music and dances! See
the beautiful belly dancers and their great performances (drinks are not
included).
Day
4:
Breakfast and transfer to the Antalya airport for the return flight to
Frankfurt.
