Gods, democracy, modern philosophy - ATHENA.
Day 1: Fly from London (
Heathrow ), Brussels ( National ), Amsterdam ( Schiphol ), Dusseldorf,
Frankfurt am Main, Stuttgart, Munich, Berlin ( Tegel ) , Milan (
Malpensa ) or Rome ( Fiumicino ) to Athens (Stopover or Change en route
possible). Upon arrival, the local representative gathers the group and
leads the bus to the hotel for check in. The hotel is located in
downtown Athens. All rooms are equipped with private facilities, phone,
TV, mini bar, and air conditioning. After checking in, there may be free
time to explore the city on your own, or relax and enjoy the hotel
ambience.
Day 2: After breakfast, see the best
places in Athens. Spend the day visiting famous places such as the Tomb
of the Unknown Soldier, the Royal Palace, Parthenon, the Temple of
Olympian Zeus, the Acropolis, Thesseum Greek Orthodox Cathedral. For
dinner, visit a typical Greek Tavern in the Plaka district and enjoy the
traditional meal and Greek music with unique Greek Folk Dance (not
included).
Day 3: After breakfast, drive
through Levadia and Arachova to Delphi - the ancient sanctuary of
Apollo. Delphi in ancient times was considered the centre of the known
world, the place where Man was closest to the Gods. Visit the unique
Bronze Charioteer, archaeological treasures, the Sacred Way and the
Castalian Spring. Departure for return to Athens. Relax in the splendor
of Greek landscapes.
Day 4: After breakfast and hotel
check out, transfer to the airport for the flight to Kos. Upon arrival,
the local representative gathers the group and leads the bus to the
hotel for check in. All rooms are equipped with private facilities,
phone, TV, mini bar, and air conditioning. After checking in, relax and
enjoy the hotel ambience.
Day 5: Relax and enjoy the hotel
ambience.
Day 6 : After breakfast, transfer to
the marina and take the ferry to Bodrum (Turkey). The history of Bodrum
(known as Halicarnassus or Halicarnassos) goes back to the 13th century
BC. Excavations reveal the 5000 year old history of this town. Many
civilisations found their home here. Upon arrival, the local
representative meets the group to visit Bodrum Castle and Museum of
Underwater Archaeology. Walk to the Mausoleum, known as one of the Seven
Wonders of the World. The Mausoleum was built by Artemisia, the sister
and the wife of King Mausolos, B.C. 355. Drive inland from the Bodrum
peninsula to Saz Village for traditional lunch with local foods. After
lunch, visit traditional Turkish Carpets and Kilim weaving by the ladies
in the village and also lifestyle of the villagers. In the afternoon,
return to the Bodrum marina and take the ferry to Kos.
Day 7: Relax and enjoy the hotel
