Overview:
The former German capital city of Bonn offers several Christmas market
opportunities and locations in the central city. The Christmas markets there
snake around several market squares and the Old City Gate. The ice skating
pavilion on the Friedensplatz gives an entirely new look to the festivities!
Entertainment takes the stage on the Muensterplatz, where puppet shows and
musical groups liven the spirits of visitors. Opportunities for other adventures
include a stop at the Beethoven birth house and museum, just a few streets from
the main market square. Celebrate his December birth with a personal visit!
Every year on the first Saturday in Advent, the medieval minstrels, craftsmen
and merchants set up their stalls in the town of Siegburg to re-enact the
atmosphere of the Middle Ages. Under natural skies – not artificial lighting –
merchants and peddlers offer a wide selection of goods: spices and exotic
delicacies from the Orient, elegant robes from Flanders, woodcraft from Germany
– and much, much more! This tour offers entertainment, education and fun for
every family member.
