Overview:
Over three days, 35 bands and more than 70 hours of music, Bingen’s
Jazz
Fest
event draws fantastic multi-national talent to this city on the Rhine River.
RTT celebrates, too!
Join RTT and travel from the pick up point in the Kaiserslautern Military
Community directly to Bingen, where we board our cruise ship. During the river
cruise, you will see many of the famous and beautiful castles and ruins along
the Middle Rhine, a World Heritage location. Lunch will be served in three
courses during the cruise, while enjoying the views. Beverages will be available
for purchase.
In the early afternoon, as the concerts are set to begin, the ship will dock in
Bingen - only steps from one of the spectacular stages set to celebrate Jazz.
Your
Jazz Fest
button (included) will provide you admission to all of the music
locations. Seating can be benches, or the grass, so be prepared for the variety
(and the weather). Of course, you are welcome to dance when the music inspires
you!
The
8
hours of free time isn’t only good for visiting the
Jazz Fest
musical
locations (8 stages all over the city center), but time is sufficient to take in
some of the sights of Bingen as well. The St. Martin Basilica, the Rochus
Chapel and the Klopp Castle are all landmarks of Bingen and fully-accessible on
this Saturday. Maybe a museum, too? The Hildegard von Bingen museum is
directly beside the ship dock, and the Stefan George Museum is not far away.
Plentiful locations in the town center provide for your physical well-being –
with food and drink of many varieties. Of course, you are welcome to bring some
snacks with you, as well!
