Overview:  Experience the splendidly decorated brewery drays drawn by heavy horses and the music of brass bands blaring as the opening day parade stirs “Oktoberfest” excitement!  Join guests from all over the world on the ‘Wies’n ‘ where the festival began over 200 years ago as a wedding celebration for Crown Prince Ludwig and Therese von Sax-Hildburghousen.  Join RTT for a tour to the world famous Oktoberfest ‘12 in Munich, a celebration lasting only 16 days annually. Roller coaster rides, merry-go-rounds, bumper cars – to mention only a few of the rides – provide the backdrop for the ‘Wiesn’ merriment.

Itinerary:  Depart from our pickup point to travel directly to Munich and arrive mid-morning.  Have the afternoon to enjoy the Bavarian-baroque high-life at the fest, sampling the entertainment as well as the culinary spectacle. The smell of spit-roasted fish, sugared almonds, Turkish delight and roasted chickens are all as much part of the experience as a triple-loop on the most modern roller coaster. The unique mixture of tradition and progress is the secret of this mammoth event.

As night draws near, we depart Munich before the sea of lights at the foot of the Bavaria statue begins to glow - and the beer tent festivities take over. Our travelers can relax as the motor coach returns to our points of origin around midnight.
